We all know that vitamins and minerals are good for the body. Magnesium is essential to good health. It’s found in our cells, our bones, our body tissues and our organs. Magnesium is naturally found in Magnesium Sulfate, more commonly known as Epsom Salt.
Epsom Salt Health Benefits:
Magnesium
Ease stress and improves sleep and concentration

Help prevent artery hardening and blood clots
Make insulin more effective
Reduce inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps

Sulfate

Help prevent or ease migraine headaches
Magnesium levels can be gently increased just by taking a bath with epsom salts. All of this from a bath? Hurray!
Bath Recipe
Add 1-2 cups of Epson Salts and 4 tablespoons of baking soda into your bath (as hot as you can stand it) along with 5 drops total of your favorite essential oil*:
Relaxation: lavender, ylang ylang, patchouli, Grounding Blend, Calming Blend
Invigorate: lemon, wild orange, grapefruit, peppermint, Invigorating Blend
Improve Skin: melaleuca, lavender, frankincense, helichrysum
Sore Muscles: lemongrass, marjoram
Sunburn: lavender, melaleuca
Do not use soaps in the bath unless they are chemical free. Pores will be open and the chemicals will be absorbed. Soak for 20 minutes three times per week. You can also add 4 tablespoons of baking soda. This helps neutralize the chlorine and aids in mineral absorption.
Foot Soak
Similar benefits can be experienced by soaking just the feet in a bath, follow the same instructions using a foot spa or shallow container.
*If you’re pregnant or have any health concerns, please check with your doctor before using Epsom salts.
